CONDIS achieved significant milestone by passing the Switching Impulse (SIL) test under wet conditions for our 800 kV RC divider, leading towards full certification per IEC 61869 standards.
This Low Power Voltage Transformer (LPVT), boasting an accuracy class of 0.1 – WB2 (as per IEC 61869-1 Ed2), accurately measures voltages across a bandwidth of 0-20000 Hz, offering utilities a detailed picture of the harmonic content within their Extra High Voltage (EHV) grid.
The test took place at LCOE High Voltage Laboratory placed in Getafe (Spain) in an arrangement that emulates the final mechanical installation at the end user substation. The large dimensions of the DUT as well as the high stress it places on testing equipment were the major challenges of this phase of testing.
CONDIS would like to extend a big thank you to Sévérino Tehrani for supervising the set up and testing of the device, to Tomás García Aguado and the dedicated team at LCOE for adeptly overcoming logistical and technical hurdles to complete the test, and to Ka Ming Law for witnessing the process and offering invaluable insights and commentary.
